PRoduct and Features

What is DURAFLEX Surface Protection Film?

DURAFLEX is a high-performance surface protection film made from a proprietary polyurethane blend designed specifically for marble, quartz, and natural stone surfaces. It forms an invisible, self-healing barrier that protects against stains, scratches, heat damage, and etching without changing the look or feel of your stone.

Does DURAFLEX protect against staining and etching?

Yes. DURAFLEX creates a completely sealed barrier over marble and other porous stones. It resists common culprits like lemon juice, wine, vinegar, oil, and coffee — preventing both staining and acid etching before they even reach the surface.

Can DURAFLEX film self-heal from scratches?

DURAFLEX features self-healing technology. Light scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat — either ambient room temperature or a warm cloth, kettle steam, or hairdryer. This keeps your surfaces looking freshly installed.

Is DURAFLEX the same as car PPF or other surface films?

No. While traditional PPF (paint protection film) is used in automotive applications, DURAFLEX is a custom-engineered polyurethane film created for architectural stone. It offers higher flexibility, better clarity, greater heat resistance, and self-healing capabilities that older polyester-based films or generic car wraps simply can’t match.

What finishes are available for DURAFLEX?

DURAFLEX is available in two premium finishes: UltraGloss for a high-shine effect on polished surfaces, and Satin-X for a low-sheen, honed appearance. Both finishes offer the same level of protection, clarity, and heat resistance—customized to match your aesthetic preference.

Will I see the film after it’s installed?

No. DURAFLEX is designed to be virtually invisible. It absorbs only 6% of light, and when trimmed cleanly to the edges of your stone, it blends seamlessly with the finish. Most customers say they forget it’s even there.

Will the film discolour or yellow over time?

No. DURAFLEX uses advanced anti-yellowing polymers with UV inhibitors to maintain clarity even after years of exposure to light. Our lab tests confirm minimal colour shift after 5000 hours of UV exposure.

How does DURAFLEX handle heat?

DURAFLEX is engineered to handle extreme temperatures. It resists direct heat up to 230°C and ambient heat up to 500°C, making it ideal for kitchen benchtops near ovens, cooktops, or microwaves. You can place hot coffee cups and plates directly on it without fear of damage.

Is DURAFLEX waterproof?

Absolutely. Once installed, DURAFLEX becomes a waterproof shield over your stone, protecting it from moisture ingress and long-term damage — particularly critical in areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces.

Can you see the edges of the film?

Only up close. Our installers trim DURAFLEX flush with the stone edge, creating a nearly undetectable perimeter. There are no bevels or bulky seams, and the edge won’t catch or lift with proper care.

What happens if DURAFLEX gets damaged or starts peeling?

No. DURAFLEX is virtually invisible once applied, preserving the natural veining, tone, and finish of your stone. It absorbs less than 6% of light and is designed to blend seamlessly with both honed and polished surfaces.
