What is DURAFLEX?

DURAFLEX Surface Protection Film is the Australian originator of marble and stone surface protection film. It is an optically clear, self-healing polyurethane film that is heat-sealed to benchtops to stop the etching, staining and scratching a sealer cannot. CSIRO fire-tested to AS/NZS 1530.3 and made from food-safe materials, it is installed by the largest trained installer network across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, with certified installers in Tasmania and South Australia.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers yellowing, lifting, cracking, or delamination under normal use. It does not cover misuse, such as cutting on the film, placing hot pans directly from a gas burner, or cleaning with abrasive chemicals.

How does DURAFLEX handle heat?

DURAFLEX is engineered to handle extreme temperatures. It is high-temperature tested (80°C continuous for 1,000 hours, no change), making it ideal for kitchen benchtops near ovens, cooktops, or microwaves. You can place hot coffee cups and plates directly on it without fear of damage.

How long does the film last?

DURAFLEX Ultra comes with a up-to-10-year warranty against yellowing, lifting, and delamination. With proper care, the film can last even longer, making it a long-term solution for stone protection.

Is it safe to place hot pans or coffee cups directly on DURAFLEX?

Yes DURAFLEX can safely handle hot items like coffee mugs and freshly microwaved plates. For anything hotter (e.g. cookware from a gas flame or oven), we recommend using trivets to preserve both the film and your stone.
