A sealer slows how fast liquids absorb into the stone and needs reapplying over time, but it offers no defence against acid etching. Does DURAFLEX change the natural texture of my marble?
No. The film is optically clear and flush to the stone, so the natural colour, veining and character that drew you to the slab all stay exactly as they are.
Why is a barrier better than a sealer here?
A penetrating sealer can slow staining but does nothing against acid etching. DURAFLEX is a physical barrier, so lemon, vinegar and wine touch the film, never the marble.
How long does the install take?
A single visit of a few hours. There is no curing period and no downtime, so your kitchen is back in normal use the same day.
Is there any maintenance once it is fitted?
None. After the install there is zero maintenance, no resealing and no special products, which suits a low-fuss inner-west household.

Will I be able to see or feel it?
No. It’s optically clear and ultra-thin, so the stone looks exactly the same. Customers love the satin feel of our ULTRA Satin-X film (if that’s what you’re into).
Does it actually stop stains and etching?
DURAFLEX is completely non porous, meaning spills don’t stand a chance. Wine, coffee, oil and citrus wipe away completely, protecting the stone from etching and staining.
How long does installation take?
