What sealing leaves unprotected

The sealing recommendation every stone supplier makes is sound but incomplete. A penetrating sealer fills the pore structure of the marble and slows liquid absorption. It operates inside the stone, below the polished surface. Etching occurs at the surface, where acids react with the calcium carbonate crystals in the marble polish. DURAFLEX SPF Ultra operates above that surface, intercepting acids at the film layer before they can reach the stone. The etching reaction cannot occur.

Protection for Unley stone

The film is optically clear and undetectable at normal viewing distances. It absorbs approximately five percent of visible light. The finish of the stone, whether polished, honed, or leathered, is unchanged. The self-healing topcoat recovers minor surface marks from cutlery and daily contact. The 10-year warranty covers bubbling, lifting, and yellowing.
