Our island is huge. Does size change the process?
Not the process, only the time on site. Larger benches are measured, cut and heat-sealed in sections so the whole surface is covered seamlessly in one visit.
Can it handle hot trays and pots from the oven?
The film protects against everyday kitchen heat in normal use, though a trivet is always wise on any stone. Its main job is stopping the etching and staining that ruin marble.
Is it safe around small children’s food and hands?
Yes. Once installed the film is inert and needs no special cleaners, so it is fine for a family kitchen and wipes down like any sealed surface.
What happens if part of the film is damaged years later?
Minor surface scratches self-heal. If a section is ever physically damaged it can be replaced without redoing the whole bench, and the warranty covers bubbling, lifting and yellowing.

Will I be able to see or feel it?
No. It’s optically clear and ultra-thin, so the stone looks exactly the same. Customers love the satin feel of our ULTRA Satin-X film (if that’s what you’re into).
Does it actually stop stains and etching?
DURAFLEX is completely non porous, meaning spills don’t stand a chance. Wine, coffee, oil and citrus wipe away completely, protecting the stone from etching and staining.
