A sealer slows how fast liquids absorb into the stone and needs reapplying over time, but it offers no defence against acid etching. Sorrento marble protection: common questions
Will the film change how my marble looks in a coastal Sorrento home?
No. DURAFLEX is optically clear and the colour, veining and finish of your stone read exactly as before. Most people forget it is there within a week of installation.
Does salty sea air affect the film?
It does not. The polyurethane surface is chemically stable and is not degraded by coastal humidity or salt, which is why it suits beachside kitchens. It carries an up-to-10-year warranty against bubbling, lifting and yellowing.
Can you treat an outdoor or alfresco stone bench?
DURAFLEX is designed for interior benchtops and surfaces. For an alfresco area we are happy to look at the specific stone and exposure and tell you honestly whether film is the right fit before you commit.
How long will my kitchen be out of action?

Is this better than the sealer my benchtop already has?

Will I be able to see or feel it?
No. It’s optically clear and ultra-thin, so the stone looks exactly the same. Customers love the satin feel of our ULTRA Satin-X film (if that’s what you’re into).
Does it actually stop stains and etching?
DURAFLEX is completely non porous, meaning spills don’t stand a chance. Wine, coffee, oil and citrus wipe away completely, protecting the stone from etching and staining.
How long does installation take?
